At Mandarins, we embrace a holistic and innovative approach to education, guided by our 3E principles and a focus on learner-centric methodologies. Our curriculum is designed to foster holistic character development, enhance 21st-century competencies, and instil a lifelong joy of learning in children. Our key pedagogical strategies:
01
Learner-Centric Approach
The Making Thinking Visible (“MTV”) pedagogy is developed by researchers of Project Zero at Harvard University. Through structured "Thinking Routines," we help children externalize their thought processes, enhancing comprehension and retention. These routines, such as "See, Think, Wonder" and "Connect, Extend, Challenge," encourage deeper understanding and critical thinking, allowing them to express, discuss, and reflect upon their ideas.
02
Making Thinking Visible
By incorporating experiential learning activities, we enable children to learn by playing, doing, interacting, and task-based learning. This hands-on approach ensures real-world application and engagement, helping them to connect knowledge with practical experiences.
03
Experiential Learning
To meet the diverse learning needs of our children, we implement differentiated instruction strategies. This includes conducting student surveys to understand preferences and interests and using language proficiency assessments to tailor our teaching methods.
04
Differentiated Instruction
We cultivate positive teacher-student and peer relationships through initiatives like individual 1-to-1 time, buddy systems, and circle time. These practices help build a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and motivated.
05
Positive Relationships
Our pedagogical approaches are carefully designed to create a dynamic, engaging, and supportive educational environment. By integrating these strategies, we aim to develop confident, competent, and curious learners who are well-equipped for future success.
